We said goodbye to our Gilbert last month. Some day I’ll write a memorial for him, but today is not that day.
This past weekend we adopted a new grey and named him Owen. He’s already turning out to be a pretty special fellow. Someday I’ll write his story, but today is not the that day.
Our sweet Savannah girl dearly missed her greyhound buddy and seemed to settle right down once a second dog joined the household. Today and every day, I’m really thankful for my spazzy athletic girl.
Two other families who lost their greys to bone cancer adopted new greys this past weekend. I am thankful they have new dogs in their homes, but their stories are not mine to tell.
Today is the day I say thank you to all the folks in greyhounds lives because without each and every one of them, our lives would not be as complete.
Adopt, don’t shop.
