Last weekend we went over to our Greyhound Buddies’ home and had pizza and lovely, lovely dips and I made dessert and we had drinks and watched the boats roll by along the Columbia and talked politics and the wedding and greyhounds. It was a pretty perfect night. Hopefully we can start making this a regular event and maybe make a game night. Unfortunately, I know one card game and that’s cribbage – I’m going to have learn some new ones!
As I mentioned – I made dessert for our little shindig. And I don’t know if I’ve mentioned recently, but I love Joy the Baker – her recipes are spot on. Her real life talk makes me smile. I feel like we could be friends. Truth. Last year, she posted the Creamy Pumpkin Pie Bars recipe – I dreamed of these and yet never made them! Why?! Amazing little crunchy, creamy, pumpkin lovelies! You should try them! Really – pie bars! And go ahead and try the vanilla ice cream breakfast suggestion. Yeppers.
Oh! And did I mention the mushrooms!?! They are unbelievable this year! Chanterelles are everywhere and we’ve found boletes (porcini) and a lobster. We’ve gone out with family members ranging from 16 to 84 – The Gentleman has been amazing showing our gorgeous forests to so many. We are so lucky to live here.
